Google Cloud Next London

Interactive Tech Conference | ExCeL, London

This two-day conference marked the largest European Google Cloud event to date and the start of a six-stage series spanning cities including Madrid, Paris and Amsterdam. In a complex and technically challenging brief and following on from the success of our partnership in 2016, Google asked WONDER to develop the 2017 series on a larger and more imposing scale.

Google Cloud NEXT brought together over 5000 tech leaders, developers and IT decision-makers to explore the latest innovations in cloud technology, while experiencing what it feels like to be part of the Google community. We were tasked with designing a free, interactive conference experience with a flexible agenda, that allowed delegates to personalise content to meet their specific needs.

The agenda featured 50+ hours of content from 85+ speakers and showcased many live demos from apps, phones and tablets as well as live coding sessions. At any one time over 2500 delegates were logged onto the delegate network.

In addition, we created a bespoke 'interactive playground' with demo pods from 25 key brand partners, including Accenture, Fastly and Intel, with opportunities to trial Google products such as Jamboard, Pixel, Spanner and Tilt Brush. Business owners who already use Google Cloud services were on hand to share experiences and advise guests on how best to utilise the tech to enhance their business.

Thanks so much to the wonderful WONDER team for all your hard work, your can-do attitudes and smiling faces on what turned out to be a beast of a job. It was a pleasure to work with you all and so reassuring to know everything was in safe hands through every step of the pre-production process and on-site during the event.

You are all brilliant!

A massive thank you to the WONDER team. Your patience, creativity, attention-to-detail and energy always has the ability to get you through! A colleague mentioned today that he has been to many events at ExCeL and he has never experienced an operation as slick as what he saw from us this week. Thank you for making that happen.
